A Parking Change - Jan 1, 2010

  • downtownFree parking Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
  • Free parking on main street (2nd Avenue East between 8th Street and 10th Street East) for up to 1 hour.
  • Metered street parking at 1 dollar per hour with a 2 hour time limit
  • Long term parking available in the lots at 50 cents per hour or 3 dollars per day (9 hours)

The parking system serves visitors, shoppers, merchants, and employees who live, work and play in beautiful downtown. The more efficiently the system runs the more the parking infrastructure can be improved.
The downtown, the heart of the City, has shopping, cultural and natural experiences within a short walk.

Disabled Parking Permits

The parking system includes a good supply of designated spaces for persons with disabilities. Vehicles displaying a disabled permit can park for free in these designated spaces. Time limits still apply. A disabled parking permit can be obtained at Service Ontario 1400 1st Avenue West Owen Sound ON

Parking Tickets

Parking tickets can be paid at City Hall at the Service Owen Sound counter, mailed to the address indicated or now on-line.
Parking Officers can explain the process of appeal.

Free Parking:
Over 1 hour limit .....................$25

Short, Medium or Long-Term:
Expired Parking Meter/Tag ......$20

Disabled Space:
Parking illegally ....................$350

Pay your parking tickets on-line with www.paytickets.ca

Paytickets.ca is an online parking ticket payment system that is administered by the Royal Bank of Canada and leading credit card processor, Moneris.
You will need your ticket/notice and a valid credit card to complete your online payment. There is a non-refundable fee for each transaction.
The City of Owen Sound has partnered with the Royal Bank to provide this service allowing people to pay online for parking tickets issued in the City of Owen Sound.
It should be noted that speeding and other Provincial Offences tickets are available on the paytickets.ca
